Gina posted a big update for what is happening with us, but she didn't say that the pictures she posted will probably be among the last taken with that camera. Yep, we finally decided to replace that 2.1 MP camera with [something a little more modern.][] The picture above was the third shot I took with it. Yes, I got a lucky shot with it.
What sold us on this particular camera was:
Gina took some nice pics of her flowers in the front yard. Maybe we can pressure her to post them.
The main reason I haven't been blogged much lately is that I've been moved up to a Tech Lead position. I've been at the Big Bad Company for a little over a year, and have been given a promotion and an opportunity to Make Things Better(tm).
And, really, there is definitely room for improvement and I'm glad to know that my input is valued. Can I make them better? Not by myself but I do have a cohort to do the business side of things. He's working on the customer and non-technical side and I'm on the Agile and technical part of the fence. And on the fence is where we work together.
So here is how some things are different:
All in all, it's been a good change for me -- I hope everyone else thinks it's been good for them, too.
When I bought my current pair of eyeglasses two years ago, one of the features I liked about them was the magnetic sunglasses. They just popped on and off the front very easily. They came with their own little case and everything.
One of my first trips with these nifty glasses was to Dallas to see my brother and his wife, and then head to Austin to see some friends of ours. When leaving my brother's house, I couldn't find the sunglasses! I looked high and low in the room we stayed in, and in the car, but no avail. They seemed lost forever.
Now, fast-forward two years to the yesterday. I got home from work, kissed Gina goodbye while she went to work and started working on dinner. Imagine my surprised when saw the missing sunglasses on the kitchen cupboard!! Huh? How did that happen? I know they hadn't been sitting there for two years! I called Gina and left a message along the lines of "Where in the world did you find these???"
When she got home, Gina explained that was was cleaning out our bags after our latest camping trip. She held up one nylon bag that we take along on a lot of trips to hold odds and ends. She shook it while upside down and the sunglasses popped out. Apparently they got caught in a fold -- for two years! Needless to say, they were pretty bent up, but unscratched.
What's funny is that these sunglasses have been with us in most of our trips for the last two years, we just didn't know it!
I have lots of thing to blog about and little time to blog anything.
Yet I maybe the only one. I snuck a glance at the TV in the breakroom while walking by. It's set to CNN Headline news. The Headline at that moment was "Clothing shop applies for liquor license for new lounge." So I'm glad that the rest of the world has taken time off while Gina and I are running a bit ragged.
